TCM Terminology

Apoplexy Involving Channels and Collaterals-A syndrome in TCM. It is the general term for the apoplexy involving both the channels and their collaterals. The disease involving the channels and their collaterals does not affect the mind. Its manifestations are characterized by deviation of eyes and mouth, muscular and skin numbness, hemiplegia, dysphasia, etc. The case is relatively milder than the one involving zang-fu organs.  

Qi and Blood Deficiency-A pathogenesis and a syndrome in TCM. It refers to the syndrome that blood deficiency and qi deficiency exist simultaneously. It is manifested clinically as shortness of breath and unwillingness to speak, fatigue, vertigo, skinny body, palpitation, insomnia, dry skin, and numbness of extremities, the principles of its treatment are replenishing qi and enriching blood.

Qi Deficiency in Middle-energizer-A pathogenesis and a syndrome in TCM. It is a morbid condition showing weakened function of the spleen and stomach. It marked by dull yellow complexion, anorexia, abdominal distention after meals, dizziness, loose stool. shortness ob breath, fatigue, stomachache relieved by pressing, pale lips,pale tongue with thick fur and weak pulse. The principles of its treatment are invigorating the spleen and replenishing Qi.

Visceral Stagnation-A term in TCM. It is a general designation of stagnancy syndrome caused by emotional stress, including stagnation due to anger, stagnation due to anxiety, stagnation due to melancholy, stagnation due to grief, stagnation due to terror, stagnation due to fear, etc.
